FAB-DIS 3.0: the 2026 guide for manufacturers and distributors
This guide covers the structure of FAB-DIS 3.0, its timeline and its role in France’s 2026 Coup de pouce Chauffage scheme, together with the method for generating your files with confidence from a PIM.
What is FAB-DIS 3.0?
FAB-DIS 3.0 is the current version of the reference data exchange model for the building, industry and infrastructure supply sector in France [1]. The format takes the form of an Excel file organised into tabs, known as blocks [2].
It enables a manufacturer to send its distributors, in a single file, all the information needed for product listing: commercial, logistics, media and regulatory data. User sectors include electrical, tools, building materials, heating, home decoration and household appliances [2].
Why a version 3.0?
Version 2.3 had been in use for seven years [2]. FAB-DIS 3.0 addresses the sector’s new priorities: media enrichment, e-commerce and environmental data, against a regulatory backdrop shaped by France’s RE2020 environmental building regulation and the REP PMCB extended producer responsibility scheme for building products [1].
FAB-DIS 3.0 vs 2.3: the new block structure
FAB-DIS 3.0 organises the file into 5 core blocks and 7 additional blocks, all renamed from version 2.3 [2].
The 5 core blocks of FAB-DIS 3.0
| Block | Content |
|---|---|
| B00_CARTOUCHE | File header information, now spread over 22 columns compared with 12 in version 2.3 [2] |
| B01_COMMERCE | Commercial data for each product reference |
| B02_LOGISTIQUE | Logistics data, virtually unchanged from the previous version [2] |
| B03_MEDIA | Images, technical data sheets and associated documents |
| B04_REGLEMENTAIRE | Regulatory compliance data |
The 7 additional blocks of FAB-DIS 3.0
C01_EXTENSION, C02_CORRESPONDANCE, C03_VARIANTE, C04_ETIM, C05_ARRET, C06_SUBSTITUTION and F01_PYRAMIDE [2]. Among them, C04_ETIM carries the standardised technical classification, and C05_ARRET lists discontinued references with their end-of-sale date [2].
FAB-DIS 3.0 timeline: key dates
FAB-DIS made 2024 a transition year and 2025 the year of full roll-out of version 3.0 [3]. 2026 marks the completion of the switchover.
| Date | Milestone | Source |
|---|---|---|
| 2026 | FAB-DIS Connect expands its services: a personalised message attached to files shared by manufacturers, and greater visibility for distributors on the 3.0 files they are due to receive. | [5] |
| April 2026 | Easy-Check 2.3 and the Move To migration tool are withdrawn. | [3] |
| 1 Jan 2026 | FAB-DIS PREMIUM subscriptions move to the new “FAB” offer, dedicated to manufacturers. | [4] |
| 1 Oct 2025 | The FAB-DIS KIT and the FAB-DIS 3.0 compliance service move to the connect.fabdis.fr platform. | [4] |
Each distributor sets its own date for phasing out version 2.3; FAB-DIS recommends switching to 3.0 now to stay one step ahead [3].
FAB-DIS 3.0 and Coup de pouce Chauffage 2026: what it means for heat pumps
The Coup de pouce Chauffage is a French bonus scheme within the Energy Savings Certificates (CEE) programme, designed to support the replacement of fossil-fuel heating systems. Since 1 September 2026, its bonus for operations under standardised sheets BAR-TH-171 (air-to-water heat pumps) and BAR-TH-172 (water-to-water and geothermal heat pumps) has been reserved for models holding a “quality and industrial resilience” approval [6][7]. Non-approved models remain eligible for the standard CEE grant [6].
This rule builds on the changes of 1 January 2026: the ×5 bonus was maintained for air-to-water and water-to-water heat pumps, and hybrid heat pumps left the scheme [8].
What this changes for your FAB-DIS 3.0 files
Eligibility is now assessed model by model. Distributors and installers need this information at the listing stage, reference by reference. FAB-DIS 3.0 provides the structure to deliver it:
| Eligibility data | Relevant FAB-DIS 3.0 block |
|---|---|
| Technical performance (e.g. seasonal efficiency, ETAS) | C04_ETIM |
| Exact model reference and approval status | B01_COMMERCE, B04_REGLEMENTAIRE |
| Technical data sheets and certificates | B03_MEDIA |
| End of sale and replacement | C05_ARRET, C06_SUBSTITUTION |
FAB-DIS 3.0 and the MaPS System PIM: manage, enrich, generate
A PIM (Product Information Management) system is the foundation for reliable FAB-DIS 3.0 output. It centralises all product data in a single repository, serving manufacturers and distributors alike.
Manage all your product data in one place
Technical specifications, ETIM classification, certifications, media and supporting documents are brought together and kept up to date in a single source of truth.
Easily add new regulatory fields
When regulations change, as with the heat pump approval requirement of 1 September 2026, your teams create the attributes they need and make them instantly available in your exports.
Generate your FAB-DIS 3.0 files without re-keying
Manufacturers and distributors alike produce their FAB-DIS 3.0 files directly from the MaPS System PIM repository. Every update is applied in one go across all the files you distribute.
MaPS System brings PIM, DAM and MDM together in a single platform and covers all three needs, from source data through to the FAB-DIS 3.0 file.
Migrating to FAB-DIS 3.0 in 4 steps
- Map your references. Identify the products affected by the new FAB-DIS 3.0 blocks and by regulatory requirements, such as heat pump approval.
- Centralise and enrich attributes in the PIM. Add the missing fields: ETIM classification, regulatory data, approval status, supporting media.
- Generate and validate your FAB-DIS 3.0 files. Produce your files from the repository, then check their compliance using rules configured directly within your platform.
- Automate distribution and updates. Every piece of information flows to your sales channels and partners in a fully automated way.
FAB-DIS 3.0: a growth lever for 2026-2027
FAB-DIS 3.0 rewards companies whose product data is reliable, up to date and distributed to the standard the trade expects. Those who structure this project now gain faster listings and stronger trust with their partners.
