On-Premise PIM: when infrastructure control is non-negotiable
Some organisations cannot – or will not – hand their infrastructure to a third party, even one offering data sovereignty guarantees.
Segregated industrial environments, critical legacy systems, strict internal security policies: these contexts demand direct physical control over the infrastructure, not just control over where the data sits.
With MaPS System, choosing On-Premise means giving up nothing. Our data platform (MDM, PIM, DAM) deploys identically, whether on your own servers or in the Cloud.
Why choose an On-Premise PIM over a Cloud deployment, even a dedicated and sovereign one?
MaPS System’s dedicated Cloud, hosted in France with OVHcloud, already meets most sovereignty and isolation requirements. On-Premise makes sense when your constraints go further: total physical control, control of your internal network perimeter, or integration with existing systems that no cloud architecture can absorb without adaptation.
Total physical control of your infrastructure
With On-Premise, the infrastructure is yours – not just the data it holds. No third party, not even a hosting provider, is involved anywhere in the chain.
You have full control over:
Control of your internal network perimeter
MaPS System requires an internet connection to operate, regardless of deployment mode – Cloud or On-Premise. On-Premise doesn’t remove this dependency, but it changes its nature: you define the network perimeter between your infrastructure and your users.
Deployed locally, MaPS System lets you:
Native integration with the most constrained systems
Some IT architectures don’t adapt to any standardised cloud solution, however flexible.
Legacy ERPs, proprietary databases, specific EDI flows, segregated industrial systems: an On-Premise PIM integrates with your existing setup without forcing a transformation of your infrastructure.
Access to the same functional scope
Updates are deployed to your infrastructure within the release cycle set by MaPS System.
You get the full range of MaPS System capabilities – advanced product data management, validation workflows, multichannel syndication, unified MDM/PIM/DAM.
MaPS System provides Debian packages or a Docker image for quick, straightforward updates, making it simple to maintain and deploy the application.
Orchestrated AI, with full control of your data
Whatever your deployment mode – shared Cloud, dedicated Cloud or On-Premise – you choose the level of data exposure to AI processing. This choice isn’t exclusive to On-Premise: a Cloud customer can also run self-hosted models (Ollama), executed locally, for sensitive data processing.
With On-Premise, this control is exercised natively on your own infrastructure: full restriction to self-hosted models (Ollama), running directly on your servers, or controlled access to third-party models, European or international, depending on your performance needs. This choice applies to every AI process across the MDM, PIM and DAM core, and can be changed at any time.
What the AI orchestrator handles, across the MDM, PIM and DAM core:
- Matching and reconciliation of data between repositories
- Automated quality control of your product data
- Generation of variants (translations, channel-specific content adaptations)
- Creation of product visuals
- etc.
Task-by-task arbitration, not an imposed choice
Depending on your preference and the nature of each task, you combine three types of models. This granularity lets you reserve self-hosting for the data that requires it, without giving up the performance of third-party models for everything else.
Self-hosted models (Ollama)
Running directly on your infrastructure, for processing your most sensitive data within your own infrastructure.
European third-party models (e.g. Mistral)
For processing that requires EU-based hosting without self-hosting.
International third-party models (e.g. OpenAI)
For use cases where performance or features matter most, on less critical data.
Shared Cloud, dedicated Cloud or On-Premise: which model suits your organisation?
Measurable results, whatever your deployment mode
MaPS System’s performance doesn’t depend on deployment mode:
Expert support to secure your On-Premise deployment
Deploying an On-Premise PIM shouldn’t become an extra burden for your teams. MaPS System supports you on:
- Installation on your infrastructure
- Configuring integrations with your existing systems
- Version upgrades, at your own pace
- Training your teams
Our experts work in demanding environments: hybrid architectures, segregated networks, critical systems.
F.A.Q
Yes.
The full range of MDM, PIM and DAM features is available identically, whatever the deployment mode.
No.
An internet connection is required for MaPS System to operate, whether the platform is deployed in the Cloud or On-Premise. On-Premise does, however, let you control the internal network perimeter between your infrastructure and your users.
Yes.
It’s designed to integrate with legacy ERPs, proprietary databases and specific EDI flows, without forcing a transformation of your infrastructure.
No.
This choice is available whatever your deployment mode – shared Cloud, dedicated Cloud or On-Premise. On-Premise, self-hosted models (Ollama) run natively on your infrastructure; in the Cloud, the same choice is possible via a VPN connection to self-hosted models.
