In French, “on-premise” translates as “on-site” or “locally hosted” and refers to an installation model where software is installed on the company’s own servers, as opposed to SaaS or PaaS models. When a company chooses this deployment option, securing, maintaining and protecting the infrastructure is its responsibility.
